BAJ logo declared extremist

Now peo­ple in Belarus can be held admin­is­tra­tive­ly liable for keep­ing any objects or texts with the BAJ logo. How­ev­er, the logo can be found on mul­ti­ple offi­cial doc­u­ments of the jour­nal­ist orga­ni­za­tion in dozens of state insti­tu­tions and agen­cies, in archives, on note­books, in the mag­a­zine Abazhur, which used to be pub­lished by BAJ, and so on.

The new attacks on BAJ are undoubt­ed­ly a con­tin­u­a­tion of the polit­i­cal pres­sure on the orga­ni­za­tion and inde­pen­dent jour­nal­ists for their work.

BAJ called on its fel­low jour­nal­ists in Belarus to remove all items bear­ing the orga­ni­za­tion’s logo from their homes and offices.
