Ihar Ilyash

On Novem­ber 22, 2024, a joint state­ment by Belaru­sian human rights orga­ni­za­tions regard­ing the sit­u­a­tion with jour­nal­ist Ihar Ilyash was pub­lished.

A sol­i­dar­i­ty action was held on the fourth anniver­sary of Kat­siary­na Andreye­va’s impris­on­ment. Poet and trans­la­tor Ale­sia Lose­va read excerpts from the book Belaru­sian Don­bas and poems by the impris­oned jour­nal­ist Kat­siary­na Andreye­va trans­lat­ed into Lat­vian.

Jour­nal­ist Ihar Ilyash, arrest­ed on Octo­ber 22, was remand­ed in cus­tody and charged with a crim­i­nal offense.
